What is the Best Video Game Systems?

from: Video Gamers Oasis

Isn't technology amazing?

One of the most amazing of all technologies is the video game, with so many versions and systems available it boggles the mind. Video games have become a major way that many people, from kids to adults to seniors, spent their leisure time. What's even more amazing is how much video game systems continue to innovate and improve, making the gaming experience even more fun and realistic.

Video game systems are the hardware devices used to play the many varieties of games. You can also refer to video games systems as video game consoles. Consoles are compatible with all the games a specific manufacturer provides for their systems, with some of the most popular systems including the Sony PlayStation, Nintendo Wii and the Microsoft Xbox. Some consoles systems are universal in that they are compatible with all programmed games available.

System developers have introduced lots of video game systems and games to go along with their systems and the competition for the video game market is fierce. Each system has different specifications and unique features that set them apart from other gaming systems.

Therefore, with so many systems available, gamers and consumers are constanly wondering which system to buy, and which system is best for their needs. For many, these questions are difficult to answer if they don't have a clue about the video game systems available. Thus it becomes necessary, in order to answer these questions, to talk to other people to get their recommedations as well as doing some personal research.

There are several considerations that need to be made when choosing the best video game console. A game console system can only be regarded as the best by yourself once you've had some experience with a few systems. To help you choose the best system, here are a few things you should do when searching the best video game system:

* First, know exactly what you want. As mentioned, what's going to satisfy you can only be determined by you. The video game system you choose must be a system you enjoy playing based on your own particular way of playing, your own specific desires, and not because a friend of yours has a particular system. Your friend likely has different expectations in a video game system, but it doesn't hurt to see theirs first to determine if you like it.

* Take video gaming seriously. Choosing a system is no different than choosing a new car. Check every aspect of the system, and make sure it gives you the best output, such as audio, plus the resolution of the video, a good game pad, and so on.

* Search for video game system information and reviews on the Internet. There are lots of manufacturers and gaming sites that post their opinions on their websites.

* You might start by narrowing down your choices to the video game systems that are the most popular. This will ensure you're getting the best quality, and it also helps you upgrade whenever these companies improve their products. In gaming, the system's compatibility is always an important factor to consider.

* Determine what other things you'd like your system to do for you. Are add-on peripherals available? The game pad should also be comfortable to handle as well.

The best video game system for you will only be the best if it fully meets your expectations. Choosing the right device is dependent entirely on the characteristics and expectations you have for the video game system you plan to own.

Dragon's Dogma – review

PS3/Xbox 360; £39.99; cert 18+; Capcom In this day and age, making video games is a hair-raising equation of risk versus reward: the risk being Hollywood blockbuster-sized budgets, and the reward being the potential to generate Hollywood blockbuster-sized income. That's why so many developers and publishers have recently opted to play things safe by making low-budget mobile, social or download ...

Undisputed 3 for PS3: Martial Arts from a Gaming Perspective

As a fan of many popular sports games, I am ashamed to admit that I am not very familiar with an often overshadowed side of them, the virtual wrestling and MMA world... but not without good cause. These games have been notoriously infamous for their complex controls and high learning curves, most notable in the Undisputed franchise, averting me and my more simplistic approach to games.

This week's new games

Max Payne 3 , PC, PS3 & Xbox 360 Max Payne was the series that brought John Woo-style "bullet time" to games, enabling slo-mo dives while pumping rounds two-handed into any unfortunate in your line of sight. Naturally it's back for this instalment, along with Max's hilariously dark commentary, growled through a haze of Kong whiskey and painkillers. The latter provide a handy health recharge as ...
